Vesa Health & Technology is seeking a Radiology Technician to provide care at the Veteran's Administration Medical Center!

Minimum Qualifications:

· Degree /Education: Graduate from an academic program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
· Certification: Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) in the specialty identified. Possess and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (as accepted by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)).
· Experience: Must have 2 years’ experience as a diagnostic imaging technologist.

Core Duties:

  • Operates fixed and portable radiographic equipment to produce routine diagnostic medical images. Computes techniques and adjusts control panel settings such as kilovoltage, milliamperage, exposure time, and focal spot size.
  • Positions patient to image desired anatomical structures. Selects image recording media, adjusts patient positioning table and image receptor, aligns x-ray tube for correct distance and angle, and restricts radiation beam for maximum patient protection. Exposes and processes images.
  • Selects imaging protocols and required accessories and makes adjustments based on specific examination requirements. Records and processes the image. Manipulates the recorded image using computer applications.
  • Assist physicians with fluoroscopic, interventional, and special examinations. Instructs patients preparing for procedures. Prepares and assists with contrast media administration. Prepares sterile supplies and equipment.
  • Provide administrative assistance, this may include scheduling, reception of patients, burning CD’s for patient records and accomplishing procedural instructions.
  • Performs general diagnostic imaging activities. Cleans and inspects equipment. Receives patients, schedules appointments, prepares and processes examination requests and related records, and files images and reports. Enters and maintains data in radiology information systems.
  • Provide accurate routine and emergent diagnostic X-ray studies to appropriate radiologist. Reviews images to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Performs equipment quality control checks.
