The Mountain Valley Treatment Center:

Mountain Valley is the leading residential short-term treatment program in the country for adolescents who struggle with anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and related disorders. We provide a great workplace and part of a highly professional interdisciplinary team.

Located in Plainfield, NH, on the Connecticut River, our campus—a former five-star inn—is a warm, comforting, homelike place where adolescents can safely overcome their struggles with anxiety and reengage life.

Summary of Job Responsibilities:

This position has a great work schedule and offers total freedom to express your culinary creativity in a small, relaxed and supportive environment. The Chef / Culinary Director should have the training, experience, and ability to direct the total food service operation. Must have the knowledge and skill set to produce high quality, large quantity meals, menu plans, and order and purchase food and kitchen supplies. Must have good human relations, communication and food business skills.

Other duties include:

  • Directly responsible for preparing noon meal and evening meal Monday through Friday.
  • Understand and follow resident food diet restrictions, allergies and food issues related to the treatment process.
  • Cleanliness and proper storage of all equipment and proper handling, serving and storage of all foods.
  • Cleanliness of the kitchen.
  • Purchase of food and kitchen supplies.
  • Manage the kitchen in an efficient manner while following budgetary guidelines.
  • As assigned, coordinate food service for special events such as graduations, reunion weekend, or other similar scheduled events.
  • As assigned, work with residents on individual or small group basis as directed.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 10:00am-6:00pm

Salary: Up to $55K & Excellent Benefits

Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required. Culinary education / training preferred.

At least two years of supervisory experience in a commercial kitchen or dining services in a school, college, or residential facility. ServSafe certification required. Experience with nutrition, Kosher, vegan, gluten-free, and hypoallergenic food preparation preferred.
