Under supervision of the SHNH Clinical Director, the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) assesses, designs, implements, and evaluates the implementation of behavior analytic interventions designed to prevent/respond to challenging behavior and to teach meaningful skills to children with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities and their caregivers. The BCBA is a contributing member of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with families, program staff, and other key stakeholders to improve outcomes and to promote wraparound care. The BCBA serves as a clinical consultant to a caseload of children across settings, providing staff professional training as part of their program consultation. Maintains compliance with applicable regulations and policies and engages in ongoing professional development and systems improvement in effort to support systems-wide interventions as well as direct/indirect interventions for children.

The BCBA is provided with a laptop, cell phone and email to perform job duties. Travel may be required.

BCBA Responsibilities:

  • Delivers a continuum of comprehensive behavior analytic services and supports to individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities within their natural environments.
  • Conducts behavior analytic assessments, including but not limited to preference assessments, functional behavior assessments, and skill acquisition assessments (e.g., VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, AFLS, PEAK).
  • Develops, monitors, and evaluates comprehensive functional assessment-based behavior support plans targeting both reductions of challenging behavior and acquisition of meaningful replacement skills.
  • Maintains responsibility for staff/caregiver training, coaching, and on-site technical assistance as a means of ensuring accurate behavior plan implementation.
  • Generates objectives and prepares clinical reports and progress summaries evaluating progress toward treatment objectives.
  • Uses creative problem solving to explore innovative solutions for barriers to behavior analytic service implementation.
  • Participates in the client’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or similar person-centered treatment planning process, collaborating with other members of the team to promote a continuity of care.
  • Designs and/or conducts staff trainings on clinically-related topics.
  • Provides on-site coaching and training to SHNH staff specific to implementation of the Foundation’s current crisis management curriculum.
  • Provide clinical supervision to BCaBA or RBT staff and/or students enrolled in BACB-approved university training programs.
  • Participates in the intake process as directed/requested.
  • Develops and maintains supportive working relationships with the individual’s families/guardians.
  • Maintains confidential records (e.g., assessments, treatment plans, clinical reports, progress summaries), completes mandated reports (e.g., incident reports), and participates in mandated reviews as per regulations.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to the current version of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board’s Ethics Code for Behavior Analysts.
  • Complete and/or maintain required staff trainings, including training in a Foundation-approved crisis management curriculum.
  • Work in collaboration and in support of the Seven Hills Foundations’ operating subsidiary.

  • Follow maintenance and safety protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree, preferably in behavior analysis, psychology, special education, mental health counseling, or a related field. Requires BCBA and licensure in behavior analysis (if applicable). Dual licensure/certification (e.g., psychologist, school psychologist, LMHC, LICSW/LCSW, speech pathologist, special education) and/or professional training and experience in developmental disabilities, special education, mental health, and/or positive behavior support (PBS) highly preferred.
  • Supervised training and experience delivering comprehensive behavior analytic services and supports to individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities within their natural environments, including conducting functional behavior assessments and designing/implementing/monitoring behavior intervention plans to both prevent/respond to challenging behavior and to teach developmental or functional living skills. Experience implementing positive behavior support strategies and/or verbal behavior assessment and intervention preferred.
  • Successful completion of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board’s (BACB’s) required 8-hour supervision training required to supervise BCaBAs, assess/supervise RBTs, and BCBA/BCaBA trainees.
  • Certification and/or eligibility for certification as a trainer in SHF’s current crisis management curriculum (e.g., Safety-Care).
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with experience leading clinical meetings, sharing case information to support staff, and presenting to other clinical disciplines.
  • Pass a fingerprint-based background check of the state and national criminal history databases.

Pay: From $75,000.00 per year
