$14.40 hourly - $18.46 / 20 hours per week
The State of New Hampshire, NH Fish and Game Department has a temporary part-time vacancy for Gardener and Groundskeeper.
Summary
Maintains gardens at the Great Bay Community Wildlife Garden, Glenn Cove, and the Great Bay Discovery Center. Typically scheduled 15 hours per week.
• YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS:** Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formaleducation.
Minimum Qualifications
• Education/Experience:** 8th grade education • License/Certification:** Valid Driver's License
Other Requirements
• Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet the minimum standards established by the agency • Must be available for non-traditional work hours, including early mornings • Must be able to perform moderate physical activity including continuous physical exertion such as frequent bending, lifting and climbing • Must be able to work in adverse environmental conditions such as wind, rain, and extreme temperatures • Trainee Option:** Not Applicable • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:** Knowledge of and experience in gardening

Detailed Tasks (agency/Position-specific)
• Maintains various gardens, including watering, weeding and planting. • Greets visitors, answers questions, and interprets the Great Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (GBNERR) gardens. • Assists the GBNERR staff with property clean-up, trash removal, and responding to issues on NH Fish and Game (NHFG) lands. • Assists the GBNERR staff in group workdays on NHFG properties or on properties owned and managed by conservation partners. • Helps maintain interpretive trails and public access areas. • Assists with related maintenance and stewardship activities of lands, facilities, and grounds.
