Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Educational Assistant role based at The Lyme School in Lyme, NH. The Educational Assistant will support classroom teachers in delivering instruction, reinforcing lessons, and providing individualized or small-group support to students. Responsibilities include assisting with classroom management, helping implement behavior support strategies, and fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment. The role also involves supervising students in various settings (such as hallways, lunch, recess, or transitions), preparing instructional materials, and supporting accommodations for diverse learning needs. The Educational Assistant will collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families to help promote student engagement, safety, and well-being.
Qualifications • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive, respectful relationships with students, families, and colleagues. • Effective communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication appropriate for a school setting. • Background in education, child development, or a related field, or equivalent experience supporting teaching and learning. • Experience and comfort working with children in group and one-on-one settings. • Skills in behavior management, including supporting classroom expectations and implementing positive behavior strategies. • Ability to follow teacher guidance, maintain confidentiality, and support individualized learning plans. • Dependable, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks in a busy school environment. • High school diploma or equivalent required; postsecondary coursework or degree in education or related field preferred. • Willingness to complete any required background checks, training, and certifications as mandated by the school or district.
