SUMMARY: Drives a Palmer Gas vehicle over established routes to take meter readings and other assigned duties.

HOURS: Varies based on work load 20-30 per week. Monday – Thursday. **Part time job - no benefits**

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for efficient communication, harmonious interaction and support of co-workers and management team members:
  • Takes meter tablet and reads meters on residential and commercial buildings.
  • Takes tank percentage readings.
  • Reports any defective meters to the meter coordinator.
  • Performs field tank cleaning/clearing (ie: digs dirt out of underground tank domes, clears debris).
  • Washes/maintains company vehicles.
  • Has and maintains a Safe Driving Record.
  • Helps in the summertime, test existing underground propane tanks “cathodic protection” and make necessary installation of new anode if needed.
  • This job requires a lot of walking and driving to customer locations.
  • Performs other tasks assigned by manager to provide general support to company operations.
  • Maintains and promotes company brand guidelines and core values at all times.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

SAFETY: Working safely is a condition of employment. Employees shall verbally report and photograph all crashes / injuries to their Manager immediately. If your Manager is not available, report the crash / injury to the Safety Director another Manager, or Human Resource Manager.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must speak fluent English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Must be able to navigate around Windows and know Microsoft Word – (Excel a plus). Ability to quickly learn our computer software and mobile tablet software. Typing skills of 40 WPM.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
