Wildlife Encounters Ecology & Wellness Center is a small, family owned & managed educational entity with facilities in Barrington & Rochester, NH. We offer a challenging, rewarding, engaging work environment, and our goal through our programming & services is to promote environmental literacy, engagement and a culture of wellness for animals, people and Earth. We feature a developing 77 acre nature center and a USDA licensed wildlife sancturary that is home to a variety of dependant, non-releasable Ambassador Animals.

Wildlife Encounters seeks a part-time animal caretaker for the summer season of 2023.

Candidate must but be comfortable around domestic and exotic/wildlife species of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates.

The ideal candidate will be a reliable, punctual individual that works well individually or as part of a small team, and has a passion for animal welfare! Important traits are the ability to follow direction and established routines, communicate, thrive in an environment where daily & weekly repetition of tasks is required, and having an eye to detail is critical.

Especially important is a comfort level being in close proximity to or even working with/handling a wide variety of small mammals, reptiles, birds, amphibians & invertebrate species.

Tasks include but are not limited to:

• facility / habitat cleaning & sanitization
• animal health and welfare observations & record keeping
• daily feeding & animal enrichment.
• potentially assist with habitat design, construction, modification & repairs.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
