Under the general supervision of the Director of Emergency Services, is responsible for safe, effective and quality patient and family centered care in the Emergency Department, and if so designated, works in the Paramedic Intercept Program.
This is a full-time day position working 9AM-9PM.
Responsibilities
- Plans, evaluates, directs and renders care per established standards of care
- Manages patient specimens per hospital policy
- Performs medication reconciliation and administers medication safely and appropriately using the 5 rights of medication administration
- Participates in Emergency operations preparedness training and response as required
- Facilitates learning experiences, assists peers with care and participates with orientation of new employees and precepting students
- Ability to rapidly problem solve and deliver care in a calm and efficient manner in high stress situations
- Functions at the Paramedic level with knowledge and experience when called out for a Paramedic Intercept
- Safe operation of Intercept vehicle
- Proper operation of emergency response equipment and supplies in the field
