Job Summary: Responsible for overall supervision of Cadbury Dining Room and Catering. Supervises dining room staff, including hiring, scheduling, training and evaluations. Responsible for the planning, billing, execution and costing out of all catering and specials. Works with Dining Service Director and Food Production Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Plans and executes theme meals, catering events and holiday menus by booking functions and using suggestive selling techniques.
• Accurately communicates function orders to appropriate staff.
• Schedules staff according to function need.
• Orders catering small wares and rentals as needed.
• Assists with setups and deliveries for function as necessary.
• Posts events timely on the catering clipboard.
• Takes steps necessary to achieve a high level of quality and satisfaction.
• Is present for major functions to assure event goes as planned.
• Assures and maintains a high level of sanitation in the Dining Room by working with staff and HACCP Coordinator to ensure the completion of daily cleaning duties and performing spot checks of the Dining Room to determine areas that need to be addressed and assign staff to correct the concern.
• Monitors staff for safe food handling practices.
• Updates pre- and post-meal duties when necessary.
• Exhibits strong supervisory skills by supervising staff according to the policies of Kendal at Hanover and the Dining Service Department.
• Adheres to child labor laws.
• Conducts fair and timely performance appraisals for staff.
• Exhibits strong leadership and motivational skills, developing staff in a positive environment.
• Develops staff’s knowledge of proper service techniques.
• Monitors wait staff performance during service to offer assistance and guidance as needed.
• Assures that uniform, dress code and other policies are consistently adhered to by staff
