Financial Specialist

Northern Human Services- Community Services Center, is currently looking for a Financial Specialist. The first priority of this position is demonstrating a strong commitment to quality services in the interest of the individuals served.

The role of a Financial Specialist is to provide accurate, professional representative payee services to clients from program assistance with application for needs such as Medicaid and annual benefit program qualifications. Duties include submitting completed applications in a timely manner for Medicaid, Social Security benefits, financial assistance with monthly payments and providing solutions for challenging financial needs. The Financial Specialist will be the primary liaison between clients and partner agencies.

This position is responsible for talking to individuals and families about their choices and the programs that might best meet their needs, provide assistance in obtaining and retaining those benefits. The ability to effectively communicate and cooperate within and among all departments at Community Services, the Mental Health Center, as well as with families, home care providers and various community members is critical.

Expectations include demonstrating an understanding of the Agency’s vision and mission through personal actions and through communication with staff.

This a full time, 35 hour per week position.

Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of higher education and prior relevant experience; proficient computer skills including MS Word, Excel and Outlook; must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
