Lift Maintenance Technician

JOB PURPOSE: ENSURES SAFE LIFT OPERATIONS. Inspects and maintains ski lifts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1. Protects the safety of all lift users. Maintains current mechanical, electrical, and other relevant information regarding the safe operation of lifts in varying weather conditions; follows lift inspection schedules and maintenance procedures; participates in training; participates in daily inspections and lift maintenance; always remains alert to lift operations, problems, trains for and participates in lift evacuation procedures; participates in off-season lift maintenance.

2. Contributes to the profitability of the Resort. Performs lift maintenance tasks competently to avoid unnecessary disruption of service.

3. Provides information to Mountain Manager and other departments. Maintains accurate records of work performed; communicates with Mountain Manager, Supervisor, Foreman, Snowmaking, Grooming, Lift Operations, and Ski Patrol regarding lift maintenance issues, especially in emergency situations.

4. Contributes to team effort. Participates in job sharing; assumes responsibility as a team member for the cleanliness of the Resort and safety of guests and employees; participates in safety meetings; accepts diverse assignments; maintains a positive and friendly attitude with other employees and guests.

SKILLS:

1. Must perform tasks thoroughly with attention to detail.

2. Must have ability to concentrate, remain alert, and respond quickly.

3. Strong mechanical and electrical skills are important.

4. Must be able to withstand prolonged exposure to extreme weather conditions, with considerable walking and climbing involved.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
