Job Title: Golf Superintendent
Wage Category: Non exempt
Reports To: Owner.
Schedule: F/T, days/hrs vary as needed, holidays, weekends. 45+ hours.
The Golf Course Superintendent is one who is entrusted with the maintenance, operation and management of the Links at LaBelle Winery and its related 18 hole mini golf course. It is his/her responsibility to supervise the maintenance of the golf course, supervise the maintenance and repair of construction and maintenance equipment, and to perform related work as required. Successful candidate will be self-motivating and self-managing, and report directly to the owners.

- Perform routine building maintenance tasks to include electrical, heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and plumbing as it relates to the golf course.
- Responsible for all phases of LaBelle Winery Golf Course maintenance and operations
- Responsible for managing all part & time course maintenance and starter crew.
- Responsible for managing the grounds crew.
- Works closely with, advise, and coordinate with facilities team on any issues related to golf course maintenance including irrigation.
- Maintenance of the grounds on a daily basis.
- Plan and Assist in the design of landscape plans for facility grounds and implement the plan
- Administer and enforce all golf courses rules, regulations and policies.
- Work to maintain the golf course in a fiscally responsible and professional manner.
- Maintains the turf, practice areas, driving range, ornamental plants, shrubs, trees and wetlands on our facility grounds.
- Responsible for planting new vegetation, spraying, pruning, and trimming of trees and shrubs, the preparation of soil plant beds for aesthetically pleasing arrangements and tending to high stress areas.
- Manages a water usage tracking plan for irrigation systems and provides annual reporting on retaining ponds, wells, and other water source usage.
- Oversees staff in proper and safe operation and maintenance of mechanical and power equipment .
- Makes recommendations relating to additional or replacement of capital equipment.
- Maintains capital equipment in every way to prolong life.
- Maintains capital equipment in a clean, neat, and orderly way, keeping all equipment shining clean in concert with the LaBelle brand.
- Supervises and participates in the application and recording of chemical applications such as fertilizers and pesticides on the grounds in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Maintains records of expenses associated with golf course operations, including grounds main tense departmental supplies, chemicals and fertilizers.
- Maintains records and completes required reporting.
- Prepares orders for parts, supplies, and equipment. Submits those orders to owners.
- Maintains and plans for spending budgets and proposes budgets to ownership in advance of year.
- Plans for, orders, and manages spray program and all chemicals and purchases related thereto.
- Manages the licensing for and oversight of the vineyard and spray program related thereto.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience in golf maintenance
- Ability to work flexible schedule
- Highly motivated and quality driven
- Detail oriented, excel while multi-tasking
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of how to play golf
- Knowledge of golf course maintenance
- An associates degree in golf or turf maintenance.
Physical requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to sit/stand for extended periods
- Ability to climb stairs
- Ability to work in a food/wine environment
- Ability to use machinery such as golf cart, riding lawn mower, fork lift, and handheld tools.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
