Schedule: 1st shift- Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30PM
2nd shift- Monday-Thursday 3:30pm-2:00am
* 2nd shift offers 15% shift differential
Occupational Summary:
Performs heat treat operations on components to specified procedures according to required quality standards by performing the below duties

High School diploma or equivalent
Experience:
No experience required.
Job Skills:
Develop working knowledge and understanding of primary heat treat specifications for batch heat treatment or fixture quench heat treatment. Develop familiarity with other applicable heat treat-related procedures and instructions as well.
Abilities:
Ability to efficiently and proficiently manage the flow of product from one step in the process to the next applying on-the-job training
Ability to read and understand complex written and verbal instructions in English
Basic computer skills
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction) and maintain an understanding of the decimal system
Able to be flexible and respond to the changing needs of the organization
Other Requirements:
Note: Physical job requirements may include standing, use of hands to assemble and or carry out job functions as well as sitting, lifting, carrying, bending and stooping during the course of the job.
Ability to lift 40 lbs.
Essential Functions:
Operate, control and maintain heat treating furnaces, tempering ovens and quenching equipment to alter physical properties of production parts by operations such as hardening, deep freeze, and tempering.
Work according to standard procedures and verbal instructions. Read Shop Orders for part, lot and steel heat numbers, type of material, and quantity of parts to be run.
Position or stack material properly in baskets and load furnace. Select/enter prescribed temperature and time heating cycles, as required. Remove materials from furnaces.
Use care to control temperatures, heating cycles and quenching methods to obtain results within strict quality latitudes and to minimize distortion.
Maintain departmental files and records. Prepare tickets designating required heat temperatures and length of operating cycles.
Detect and report unusual conditions and special problem immediately to Supervisor. Move materials, containers, and equipment in performance of duties or as directed. Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations. Keep work area in clean and orderly condition.
Work may be subject to audited inspections.
Recognize and report any irregularities as to defective parts, equipment, work techniques and/or quality of workmanship.
Maintain necessary records. Detect and report unusual conditions to proper supervisor. Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations. Keep work area clean and equipment in clean and orderly condition including promptly reporting to Team Lead any oil/coolant leaks and/or spills
Perform other duties as required or directed.
