Description:Summary:
Responsible for selecting and purchasing quality products; processing purchase orders, tracking orders, maintaining established inventory levels in multiple retail locations. Point of contact for all inventory and purchasing events/issues within the company, as it relates to sellable products and office supplies.
Responsibilities:

  • Research, select and purchase quality products for multiple retail locations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors, negotiating best pricing and terms.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure levels meet the criteria set in the product models.
  • Assess quality of incoming inventory, using communications skills (verbal and written) with the
  • management staff of each location and escalate issues/discrepancies to vendors and management.
  • Utilize purchasing / sales history and market trends to recommend and make insightful buying decisions.
  • Use sales history to help in forecasting and adjustment of future orders to ensure required stock levels.
  • Places Orders using vendor B2B sites, EDI, email, or phone orders depending on the vendor requirements.
  • Verifying PO, to Receipts to Invoices to ensure all orders are complete and any issues resolved.
  • Attending trade shows as available to learn about and stay current on trends and styles.
  • Manage and collect data of trial of potential new products, meeting all company requirements.

Qualifications:*

  • Minimum of 2 years of previous buying experience, preferably in the footwear industry.
  • Proven strong relationship management skills, negotiation skills and time management skills.
  • Self-directed, self-starter that possesses ability to prioritize multiple projects and work independently as well as a in a team environment.
  • High degree of initiative and ownership.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Inventory management System (RICS, or equivalent).

Travel Requirements:
This position requires frequent travel to various store locations. The travel component is an essential aspect of the role, as it allows the Buyer to personally assess inventory levels, conduct inventory audits, stock replenishment support, and participate in new store events. The estimated travel frequency is approximately 25% and may vary based on business needs.
