About the job

Our Materials Logistics Manager manages the receipt, control and delivery of materials and equipment to the operating areas. This position manages the control of the Company’s inventory and ensures the proper records of all transactions affecting these assets. Provides leadership to ensure that the materials logistics operation is meeting safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives. Manages the daily operation of scheduling, planning, and delivering orders to the operating areas.

Essential Functions

  • Manages the receipt, control and delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Manages financial budget including operations and maintenance, overtime and capital costs which include recommending opportunities to achieve financial goals and requirements.
  • Manages objectives and continual improvement by managing relations and driving performance management.
  • Ensures that reporting of all inventory results is timely, accurate and consistent with corporate policies and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Supports and actively participates in materials logistics decision process, as well as assisting in establishing long-term objectives.
  • Manages the development and implementation of process improvements.
  • Ensures the best practices and procedures throughout the corporation are available and understood.
  • Manages, facilitates, and maintains good distribution working conditions and safety programs
  • Leads continuous improvement opportunities within the Materials Logistics organization to ensure the warehouse and distribution center are operating efficiently and effectively to meet Customer and cost objectives.
  • Manages site safety initiatives related to materials logistics.

Qualifications

Technical Knowledge/Skill:

  • Requires technical knowledge and understanding of distribution and warehouse operations
  • Ability to use PC desktop applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Project)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, finance, related discipline, or equivalent experience

Experience:

  • Ten (10) plus years in distribution or warehousing or related experience including at least three (3) years of supervisory experience
