Key Duties

  • Diagnosis of cancer: The veterinary oncologist is responsible for diagnosing cancer in animals. Key Skills, Qualifications & Client Requirements

  • Advanced education and training: A veterinary oncologist must complete a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree and then undergo specialized training in oncology through a residency program. The residency typically lasts for three years and provides hands-on training in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer in animals
