New Hampshire Children's Trust (NHCT) is the Governor-designated statewide community-based child abuse prevention agency, NH's chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America, Facilitating Organization for Family Resource Centers, and a member of the National Alliance of Children?s Trust & Prevention Funds. OVERVIEW
NHCT?s Communications Director positions is for strategy-minded, seasoned communicators who enjoy overseeing the execution of agency brand development and brand implementation, public relations work, internal/external communications and marketing, and messaging for community awareness, special events, and projects. In collaboration with the Director of Development and NHCT?s Programs Team, this position is responsible for the development of NHCT?s marketing and communications strategy and overseeing its implementation in the form of e-newsletters, social media content and copy, website(s) content, the Annual Report, as well as other print/digital collateral, and providing direction education and awareness related to special projects, fundraising efforts, and other events.

Duties

Communications
  • Support NHCT?s mission by strategizing and direct targeted messaging and branded materials to raise public and potential partner/funder awareness of NHCT programs/training opportunities, advocacy priorities, and mission impact.
  • Lead the development of an annual communications and marketing plan with output and outcome targets and evaluation measures.
  • Oversee the publication of the agency?s Annual Report.
  • Envision and support community and statewide awareness campaigns that positively influence social norms that may also be used for fundraising and advocacy campaigns.
  • Publicly represent New Hampshire Children?s Trust at speaking engagements, in legacy and social media, and at special events.
Envision and direct the promotion of educational information through the agency website, social media, e-newsletters, direct mail, posters, videos, podcasts, radio and TV PSAs, etc.

Community Relations
  • Clearly and professionally articulate the agency mission, vision, values, program goals and objectives to the community, partners, and funders.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Development and NHCT Program?s Team, maintain and leverage distribution channels for educational and other branded material.
  • Where necessary, assist in the creation of messaging to be disseminated in speeches, legacy media, and e-newsletters for community partners, donors, staff and Board
  • Direct the creation of written community education, promotional and administrative materials, and other resource development.

Development Support
  • In collaboration with the Director of Development, coordinate strategic communication that may be used for agency appeals to individuals, organizations and corporations for donations, and sponsorships.
  • Provide strategic support for events and appeals.
  • Where necessary, make community education presentations to small and large groups.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Adhere to NHCT policies and protocols.
  • Analyze and provide data to Director of Advancement for reporting to Board and others.
  • Undertake any other duties or projects commensurate with the nature of NHCT?s mission and organizational sustainability, including special events.
  • Participate in staff meeting and regular supervision to assure the quality and quantity of work.
  • Participate in agency wide initiatives, campaigns, training, etc., as directed.
  • Contribute to cultivating a positive work environment.
  • Travel when needed.

Requirements
  • Bachelor?s degree in marketing, communications, or related field (Master?s degree prefer) and 5+ years non-profit public relations experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of legacy and digital marketing strategy, social media engagement, and emerging electronic communications methods
  • High-Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office programs, Donor Software, and other Communications Software
  • Willingness and aptitude to learn other technology required to fulfill job responsibilities
  • Ability to write and edit a variety of communications documents
  • Ability to make oral presentations to large groups
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently and in collaborations with others
  • Self-motivated, well-organized, punctual, and flexible
  • Reliable transportation, auto insurance, and a willingness to travel around the state
  • Strong skills working with ad-hoc and formal teams to accomplish positive results
  • Enthusiasm for, experience with, and ability to work within diverse and underrepresented populations and communities
