The State of New Hampshire, Department of Information Technology, Infrastructure & Operations Division - Database Administration has a full-time vacancy for IT Manager V/Manager of Database Administrator.

Summary:

Manages information technology programs. Analyzes policies, evaluates specifications and formulates strategies to maintain the operation of multiple relational database management systems running on multiple networked computer platforms. Responsible for the overall management of the Database Administration team which includes Oracle running on UNIX, Linux, and Windows.

YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree and 9 years of experience OR equivalent combination of 13 years of education and experience after completion of high school. Education and experience must be in the fields of information technology or data management, five years of which shall have been in a supervisory or management capacity.

License/Certification: Valid driver's license and have access to transportation for use in statewide travel.

Responsibilities:

Insures production and development database instances running on high-end database servers, application servers, and web environment platforms are available at all times.

Insures the application presence is operational from a database perspective. This includes the state's servers that make up our client and web architecture.

Assures high availability of the State of New Hampshire's application platforms while maximizing savings and customer satisfaction while minimizing risk.

Supports Operations efforts in the area of Disaster Recovery (DR), business continuity, and business survivability. Select and procure hardware and software that minimizes risk and maximizes survivability.

Develops and enforces internal policies and procedures to insure IT best practices are followed which support business continuity efforts.

Researches, recommends and implements acquisition of all necessary resources, including hardware, software, operating system and develops processing standards required to assure completion of information technology projects.

Manages, reviews, and analyzes relational database management system procedures, maintenance procedures, resource allocations, system standards and workflows.

Coordinates with managers, organizational units, and technical support teams to resolve problems, set priorities, and find solutions so user agencies can accomplish their goals and objectives.

Analyzes long-term data processing needs to maximize staff utilization with user agency priorities within agency budget restraints.

Assigns and schedules relational database management system software and agency application release updates on multiple computer platforms to support a wide range of applications to assure platforms remain stable and secure.

Insures the completion of work products by assigned team members; reviews all work products completed by assigned team members.

Develops, monitors, and administers a budget in support of described duties.
