The State of New Hampshire, NH Fish and Game Department has a full-time/temporary) vacancy for Access /Facilities Foreman

Summary: Assigns, supervises, performs and provides technical expertise in the maintenance and operation of statewide facilities including, but not limited to, boat ramps, grounds, docks, fishing piers, kiosks, guard rails, toilet facilities, signs, roads, buildings and parking lots.

YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

Other Information

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Experience:Equivalent combination of 4 years of education and experience after completion of high school. Education and experience must be in civil technology, public works administration, construction, property/facilities maintenance, or a related field, with at least 2 years of directing crews in maintenance and construction procedures.

License/Certification:Valid Commercial Driver's License, Class A (CDL-A) with no E (manual transmission) or L (full air brake system) restrictions

Other Requirements • Motor vehicle record (MVR) must meet minimum standards established by the agency • Offers of employment are conditional upon receipt of a negative result on controlled substance testing • Must consent to controlled substance and alcohol testing, which includes random, post-accident, reasonable cause and follow-up testing per Federal Regulation Codes and US DOT Requirements • Must sign a previous pre-employment alcohol and drug test statement and authorization to obtain prior testing information from previous employer

Responsibilities: Assigns, supervises and performs facility maintenance including boat ramps, grounds, docks, fishing piers, kiosks, guardrails, toilet facilities, signs, roads, buildings, and parking lots.

Supervises and performs construction and installation of signs and kiosks.

Develops and implem nts maintenance plans for department facilities, to include snow removal.

Operates snow removal equipment to include plow trucks and snow blowers; shovels where appropriate and spreads salt and sand as necessary to maintain parking lots, sidewalks, etc. in a safe and functional condition.

Prepares and oversees contracts for services, equipment and operators with private firms and state agencies.

Coordinates special law enforcement details necessary to address maintenance and operation issues of boat access facilities with the Law Enforcement Division.

Communicates and works with local officials and the public in order to identify and address issues with maintenance of facilities.

Prepares reports on project time, equipment, materials and progress including project cost expenditures and balances.

Orders, receives and distributes materials to specified sections for future work.

Recommends repairs and supervises the maintenance and operation of tools and equipment and determines work procedures.

Coordinates with contractors and subcontractors to ensure through inspections that all phases of maintenance meet with specifications set forth.

Reviews the work of skilled trade workers and equipment operators.

Interprets plans, specifications and orders (written or oral) correctly to avoid errors that could lead to confusion, damage to equipment and/or a waste of time and materials.
