Position Title: Material Handler- Painter

Department: Material Handling

Supervisor: Painter Lead operator

Position summary-Responsible for coordinating the activities to support successful material handling and using continuous improvement principles to improve flow of material through the entire operation.

A material handler’s number one role is to make sure an operator never has to leave their machine or shut it down.

Production support

• Keep painter (roller track) supplied with product, move product to painters.
• Keep the exit rack emptied as needed.
• Make boxes.
• Put up orders C/O taping up boxes, labeling, checking stock, Verifying piece and box counts.
• Prep all upcoming jobs C/O spindles, Caps, Set up sheet, MO, Mid, Stock, Boxes, pallets and

Labels.

• Inspect all tooling removed from each machine to make sure it does not have to be burned off. If ok, then place back on the tooling rack. If not, follow the burn off procedure.
• Coordinate paint list with painters and leads.
• Take care of all empty totes, bins, and baskets.
• Discarding all unused labels

General Purpose

• Keep cardboard stocked.
• Load roller track for upcoming shift
• Clean paint filter per schedule.
• Change out empty paint barrels.
• Maintain and monitor paint consumables.
• Implementing 5S strategies.
• When running half bins, the material handler will assist in moving product to the painters.

House keeping

• Vacuum and sweep around, under and on top of machines as well as entire area.
• Keep the area free of all clutter and debris.
• Keep a neat and orderly computer center.
• Maintain all tooling. (Burn off process)
• Wipe down machine.
• Dispose of all paint waste in a timely manner.
• Maintain filter cleaning system, clean as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $25.00 per hour

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
