Description

Responsible for leading technology, operations, business process, and business planning efforts for the Surety organization with focus on long-term growth. Pursues and uses data driven analytics to review trends and leading indicators to identify opportunities to improve business outcomes. Works strategically and collaboratively to develop and implement key process, metrics, and improvements across the respective business leadership teams. Demonstrates understanding of key industry, economic and competitive conditions, as well as the strategic and operational challenges. Works closely with internal stakeholders legal, claims and underwriting departments to ensure ongoing initiatives are executed on behalf of LM Surety.

Responsibilities

 

Collaborates with Product and Technology teams in leading all agile efforts in delivering the infrastructure design and deployment requirements. Develops and maintains high performing staff that may include project leaders and business analysts collaboratively working within clearly defined objectives and ongoing coaching and development. Oversees development of project plans, assignment of tasks, team execution, deployment plans and metrics for monitoring success. With a focus on delivering technology, continuously improves efficient workflows and processes to facilitate meeting and/or exceeding product line objectives ongoing national initiatives and programs necessary to evolve into a long-sustaining product. Establishes and enhances partnerships across various groups that may include Product, Actuarial, IT, Finance, Claims, UW, Product Management, and Distributions Ops & Strategy. Develops and designs an efficient process to deliver consistent, accurate, and timely operations and strategic reports to key stakeholders. Responsible for all aggregation reporting and complex financial analysis and conducts complex analysis to understand exposure across the organization in support of presentations to the Executive leadership team. Develops and implements reporting analysis tools to influence key performance drivers such as loss cost opportunities. Designs, develops, implements and maintains operational practices for effective and efficient utilization of internal staff and outside consultants. Utilizes external Surety operations trend analysis to track benchmarks across the industry and identify and leverage best practices. Through proactive analysis, develops process for identifying and monitoring operations to maximize performance and outcomes using data and analytics.

Qualifications
  • Masters` degree preferred, typically in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or other quantitative field
  • A minimum of 10 years relevant experience of Surety operations
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative and problem solving skills
  • Advanced to expert knowledge of data sources, tools, and business processes, including a sophisticated understanding of cross-functional operations and business drivers
  • Knowledge of key industry, economic and competitive conditions, as well as the strategic and operational challenges facing the business
  • Ability to provide focus and direction to field operations and strong project management capabilities to implement national/regional initiatives
