Northern Human Services is seeking out Homecare Providers for individuals with intellectual disabilities in and around Colebrook.

A Homecare Provider welcomes an individual into their home and provides a supportive, home environment. They encourage skill building, positive relationships, and independence. We are looking for Homecare Providers who can dedicate time to support individuals in an assortment of daily activities at home and offer support in the community.

• As a provider, you would have an adult live with you in your home and provide supports to help enhance quality of life.
• You will receive a tax-free monthly Difficulty of Care payment for your services based on the needs of the individual.
• Providers receive a respite allotment to allow for time off for the provider.
• NHS will train providers as well as provide an additional stipend for additional training hours.
• NHS will set up your home to be NH Certified.
• The individual's team is available to you to support, train, and assist you in success.
• Providers must own or rent their own home and have an extra bedroom available.
• Funds may be available for home modifications to allow for accessibility if necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Model appropriate routines of independent living and interpersonal skills.
• Maintain a safe, stable, and comfortable atmosphere.
• Able to work as a solution-oriented team member.
• Documentation both weekly and monthly.
• Assist with shopping and support interests in the community.
• Support making and transporting to medical appointments.

Minimum Qualifications Required

• Commitment to enhancing the life of another in all aspects of their life.
• Valid Driver’s license and auto insurance.
• Must pass Criminal, DMV, and BEAS background checks.
• Home/Renters insurance.
• Completion of trainings.

Payments made to the Providers for the care of the individual they are supporting in their home is considered Difficulty of Care payments as defined in IRS code Section 131(c) and may not be considered taxable income.
