About this role:
The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for accurately entering data into the Nursing Services master staff scheduling program and managing the daily workflow of the nursing office. They serve as the primary trainer for nursing leadership, ensuring proper education on the scheduling system. Additionally, they perform administrative tasks using established work methods and procedures, utilizing their familiarity and specific training in the master staff scheduling program within the hospital's standard policies, procedures, and practices.
What you bring to the table:
Education
  • High school diploma or GED required, college level courses a plus.
Experience
  • Two (2) years’ experience as a Nursing Scheduler in a health care setting or three (3) years’ experience in progressive clerical or administrative support to a significant department within a company.
Licenses/Certifications
  • None Required.

What you will do:
  • Schedule and coordinate staff to meet the fluctuating needs of the hospital, including sick/vacation coverage and additional staff requirements, by inputting schedules into the master scheduling program.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date information on the master staffing schedule for generating related reports and ensure the proper tracking of employee time-off requests, overtime, appointments, and observations.
  • Collect and track miss punches and timesheets of nursing staff, distribute communications to the nursing department, and provide information to per diem staff regarding scheduling and training.
  • Conduct training sessions for nursing staff on the nursing scheduling systems and assist Nursing Leadership with various HR-related issues such as employee benefits, vacancies, payroll, workers' compensation, and licensure tracking.
  • Maintain an updated listing of staff and phone numbers in the nursing office and ensure compliance with company and employee standards, including maintaining a professional working environment and appearance and promptly reporting absences to supervisory personnel.
